just getting started

I’ve wanted to write a blog for a long time and haven’t done it because I didn’t think I had anything special or unique to say. But I’ve been realizing it’s not about saying something new or especially powerful or clever, it’s about saying… period.

It’s like music. Everything’s been said before. But people keep writing songs and singing them because they need to say the words for themselves, even if they’ve been said before countless times in countless ways. The words are made special again because of who’s saying them, not because of which words they are.

Try being in love and never saying “I love you,” because it’s been said before. Stupid. They’re the same words that have been around forever, but they need to be said by each new person. They’re special because they’re coming out of your mouth.

So here I go. I’m opening my mouth and saying.

I don’t know what I’ll be saying or if it’ll be even slightly interesting, but when I have something to say, anything to say, I’ll say it.
